First Home Owners Grant

The “First Home Owner Grant” (FHOG) is a financial incentive offered to first homeowners by the West Australian Government. The FHOG is available to all West Australians, given the condition that they have never owned a home before.

On the 27th of December 2016, the Government announced a temporary $5,000 boost to the FHOG, bringing it to $15,000. On the 17th of May 2017, the Government announced a change to the closing date for the $5,000 FHOG boost payment.

This means that eligible first home buyers who enter into a contract to purchase or construct a new home between the 1st of January and the 30th of June 2017, and owner-builders who commence laying foundations of their home between those dates, will receive the boost.

The FHOG is a great way to get one step closer to your first home.
